St Ives is situated on the site of a former gas works and the
gallery stands high above magnificent Porthmeor Beach. The Tate
Gallery in St Ives was opened in 1993 by H.R.H. Prince Charles.
The imposing building, with its spectacular stained glass window
by acclaimed painter Patrick Heron, has won awards for architectural
design.
